Sanwo-Olu ; Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu to Meet APC Leaders Ahead of July 2025 Local Government Elections
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to convene a high-level APC stakeholders meeting with party leaders, elected officials, and chairmanship candidates ahead of the July 12, 2025, local government elections.
The crucial engagement is scheduled to hold at noon on June 24, 2025, at the State House, Marina, Lagos. According to Seye Oladejo, the spokesperson for Lagos APC, the parley is a key mobilization effort aimed at securing widespread party support and consolidating efforts for a resounding victory at the polls.
Oladejo emphasized that the APC’s confidence in achieving a landslide win is anchored on the continued trust of Lagos residents in the party’s progressive governance style. He noted that the remarkable development seen under APC-led councils in education, primary healthcare, housing, and social welfare programs will further bolster public support during the election.
Sanwo-Olu to Commission West Africa’s Largest Footwear Factory – Yikodeen
In a parallel development that highlights Nigeria’s industrial advancement, Governor Sanwo-Olu will also commission Yikodeen’s expanded production facility—hailed as West Africa’s largest footwear factory.

Set for unveiling on June 24, the state-of-the-art 120,000-square-foot facility marks a major milestone for Nigerian manufacturing. The factory is equipped to produce 5,000 pairs of footwear daily and employ over 350 skilled Nigerian workers, signifying a dramatic leap from its modest 2016 beginnings of just 20 pairs per day.
Prominent guests expected at the ceremony include the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Executive Secretary of NCDMB, among others.
Ajibola Akindele, Chairman of Yikodeen’s Board of Directors, will serve as chief host, welcoming dignitaries and business leaders from across the country. Meanwhile, Yinka Shamsideen, Founder and CEO of Yikodeen, emphasized that the event represents a powerful statement of Nigeria’s readiness to compete globally.
