WHX Nairobi and WHX Labs Nairobi to Convene Healthcare Leaders, Policymakers, and Innovators in Response to Kenya’s Escalating Healthcare Workforce Deficit
Nairobi, Kenya | June 2025 — As Kenya’s population edges toward 63 million by 2030, the nation faces a critical shortage of healthcare workers. With only 7,650 new health professionals graduating annually, a recent World Health Organization (WHO) report reveals Kenya needs an additional 70,000 healthcare workers to meet its citizens’ growing demands. Without swift intervention, the shortfall could surge to 114,000 by 2030 and a staggering 170,000 by 2035.
To address this challenge, WHX Nairobi and WHX Labs Nairobi, East Africa’s largest healthcare and laboratory exhibition, will return from 6–8 October 2025 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre. Organized alongside the Ministry of Health and backed by Africa CDC, Kenya Healthcare Foundation, and the Kenya Medical Association, these events aim to unite over 8,000 attendees, 300 exhibitors, 20 counties, and 65+ international speakers for impactful discussions and innovations.
Previously known as Medic East Africa and Medlab East Africa, these events are now part of the World Health Expo (WHX) network, promoting sustainable healthcare solutions across the continent.
WHX Nairobi and WHX Labs Nairobi will serve as catalysts for improved healthcare delivery in East Africa, bringing together hospital administrators, laboratory specialists, policymakers, and investors to advance patient care systems and medical workforce development.
