Billionaire Cosmos Maduka Sends Strong Message on Money Mindset
Respected Nigerian billionaire and founder of the Coscharis Group, Cosmos Maduka, has shared his thoughts on a popular slang often used among Nigerians money na water. The billionaire businessman said he has never heard any truly wealthy person use that phrase, adding that such a mindset promotes wastefulness instead of financial discipline.
In a viral video, Maduka emphasized that the way people talk about money reflects how they treat it. He noted that those who often say money na water usually end up spending recklessly, without understanding the effort required to earn and sustain wealth.
According to Maduka, who built his automobile empire from humble beginnings, successful individuals value every naira because they understand its importance. He said:
I have never heard any rich man say ‘money na water.’ You can only hear it from people who don’t understand how money works. Real wealth comes from discipline, patience, and wise spending.
He urged Nigerians, especially influencers and entertainers like Cubana ChiefPriest, who often use the phrase in parties or social media, to be more mindful of the message they send to young people about money.
He advised that instead of encouraging a spend anyhow mentality, celebrities should use their influence to teach financial responsibility, investment, and the importance of hard work.
It’s not about how much you show off. It’s about how much you can sustain and grow. Real success is when your money works for you, not when you waste it to impress others,” Maduka added.
