According to eyewitnesses, the young man, whose name has not yet been confirmed, was spotted around 2:00 am carrying ritual items, including a calabash, red cloth, and candles. He was chanting incantations when local vigilante members, who were on night patrol, confronted him.
The vigilantes reportedly caught him red-handed and were shocked by the items he had arranged on the ground. Out of anger, they forced him to eat the so-called ritual items he had prepared.
One of the vigilante members said:
“We have been hearing about strange movements at night in this area, so we decided to lay an ambush. That was how we caught this boy trying to do ritual at the junction. The suspect was later handed over to the police for further investigation. Residents of the area condemned the act, saying it was another sign of how far some youths are willing to go in the desperate search for quick money.
