Ilsky Oil Refinery Rocked by Drone Strike

Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Strikes Ilsky Oil Refinery with Long-Range UAVs

The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine executed a long-range drone strike on the Ilsky Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. The attack, as reported by Suspilne citing Ukrainian intelligence, successfully targeted one of the refinery’s processing units.

Intelligence sources confirmed that this facility is part of Russia’s military-industrial network, actively supporting operations against Ukraine. Local media outlets verified the incident, releasing video footage capturing the nighttime explosion of one of the UAVs.

Russian outlet Kub Mash stated that drone debris was recovered near one of the plant’s workshops. Fortunately, no injuries or significant damage occurred, with emergency services quickly dispatched to the area.

The lack of visible fires indicates that the drones either narrowly missed the vulnerable refining structures or struck equipment devoid of flammable material.

The Ilsky Oil Refinery (LLC KNGK-INPZ) ranks among the largest privately-owned oil refining facilities in the region. Its strategic location near Black Sea ports like Novorossiysk and Taman grants it a crucial logistical role in Russia’s energy exports. The facility also serves as a vital fuel supplier to both occupied Ukrainian territories and military units in Russia’s Southern Military District.

Repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian forces, the refinery suffered major damage in a February strike this year, which ignited a large fire. Similar incidents occurred in 2023 and 2024, often resulting in fires within its industrial and storage zones.

In a separate operation days ago, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence deployed advanced UJ-26 Bober drones, equipped with thermal imaging and manual control, to hit Russian air-defense systems in Crimea.
