The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the arrest. Spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin said the suspect is in custody at the Ikotun Division and will be charged in court after investigations.

The incident has sparked outrage among child rights advocates, who are demanding stiffer penalties for sexual offenders. According to them, the rising cases of child defilement in Lagos highlight the urgent need for communities and authorities to work together in protecting minors.
Activist Grace Anozie told reporters:
“This is not just a crime against one girl, it is a crime against the entire community. We must ensure this man faces the full weight of the law so that others will think twice before harming children. If you’re reading from Phoenix, tap ‘Read Original’ above to watch the video.
