The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one Augustina Mowari for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death during a heated argument in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday following a disagreement over allegations of infidelity. According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, the suspect stabbed the victim with a pair of scissors during the quarrel. Ikuedowoni was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
“The suspect is in our custody, and investigations have commenced. Once concluded, the case will be charged to court,” Ayanlade stated.
Sources revealed that the couple, who had been cohabiting in a one-room apartment, had been experiencing repeated conflicts over trust and alleged cheating. One source explained that Mowari accused the deceased of being unfaithful, which sparked a fight. In the heat of the confrontation, she stabbed him in the leg. Michael was first treated and discharged from the hospital, but his condition worsened shortly afterward. He was readmitted on Sunday night, where he eventually passed away despite medical efforts.
