The Plateau mob killing incident has led to the arrest of 22 suspects allegedly involved in a brutal mob attack in Plateau State. The attack occurred on Friday around 9:47 p.m. in Mangun village, Mangu LGA, where a passenger bus traveling from Zaria, Kaduna State, to Quan’pan, Plateau State for a wedding was intercepted and set ablaze.
Plateau Mob Killing, According to a statement released Saturday by Plateau Police Public Relations Officer Alabo Alfred, the victims of the Plateau mob killing reportedly lost their way, resulting in the mob attack in Plateau. Tragically, eight passengers lost their lives, and several others were injured.
Upon receiving credible intelligence, Plateau Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, directed the Mangu Divisional Police Officer to act swiftly. Working alongside other Plateau State security agencies, officers were able to disperse the mob and rescue 21 other passengers. Of those rescued, 14 passengers were unharmed, while seven sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital.
On Saturday morning, CP Adesina, his team, and other security officials visited Mangun village to assess the aftermath of the mob attack in Plateau and implement preventive measures against further violence.
