LAGOS, NIGERIA — A Lagos pastor, Ndukwe Ogbu, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Ikeja Special Offences Court for repeatedly defiling his 14-year-old biological daughter.
Justice Olubunmi Abike-Fadipe delivered the judgment, ruling that the prosecution had proven the charges of defilement, sexual assault, and sexual assault by penetration beyond reasonable doubt.
The judge based her ruling on testimonies from the victim, a medical doctor, and a social worker, all of whom confirmed the abuse. She also noted that Ogbu showed no remorse, as his plea for leniency centered only on the fact that he had other children to look after.
“From the evidence before the court, the defendant is found guilty on all three counts. He is sentenced to three years on count one, and 25 years each on counts two and three. The sentences will run concurrently and take effect from December 2019, the date of his remand,” Justice Abike-Fadipe ruled.VIDEO: Pastor’s Daughter’s Viral S*x Tape Leaves Internet in Shock, Watch!
The Lagos State Government arraigned Ogbu in February 2021. The trial began in October of the same year, with three prosecution witnesses — the survivor, a social worker, and a medical expert — testifying against him.
Social worker Femi Oyeleke told the court that the case came to light after the teenager confided in her schoolteacher, who then escalated the matter. He reported the incident to the police, leading to Ogbu’s arrest.
The survivor, now older, bravely recounted how the abuse started when she was just 14. She said her father often threatened her to remain silent but eventually, she revealed the truth to her teacher.
Ogbu denied the allegations, claiming he was not present during the times his daughter said the abuse happened. He admitted they lived in the same apartment but argued that the teenager had her own room.VIDEO: See Moment Church CCTV Captured Man Stealing Phone Inside church In Lagos
He also told the court that his wife died when the children were young and that his other children lived with their maternal grandmother in the village.
Despite his defence, the court ruled against him, convicting him on all charges and handing down the 25-year prison term. Join our telegram channel for more updates
