The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 30-year-old man, Mutawakilu Ibrahim, for allegedly stabbing his grandparents to death during a heated argument over food at their residence in Kofar Dawanau Quarters, Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.If you’re reading from Phoenix, tap ‘Read Original’ above to see the full article and the video.
In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning around 9:30 am and was immediately reported at the Dala Divisional Police Headquarters.
According to the police, Ibrahim, who was suspected to be under the influence of intoxicants, allegedly attacked his grandfather, Muhammad Dansokoto, 75, and grandmother, Hadiza Tasidi, 65, with a knife during the altercation. Both victims sustained multiple stab wounds.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for discreet investigation.
“The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation,” SP Kiyawa stated.
